Get to know the teacher

My name is Ashley Neugebauer. I wanted to introduce myself and give you all a little background about me so that you can get to know me a little better. This will be my 12th year teaching. I taught 2 years here at BSE before moving to third grade. My husband and I just celebrated our ninth wedding anniversary.  I have a stepdaughter, Kayla, who is 22 years old. I have a 5 year old son, Brayden and a 2 year old daughter, Ivy Mae.  I have 1 dog, Rowdy. I was born in Texas, but moved to Memphis when I was 5 years old. I graduated with my bachelors degree from the University of Memphis and a Masters in Education from Union University. I am excited for what this year is going to bring.

We will be learning so many new concepts that build off of the skills from second and many that build off the new things you will learn in third grade. Multiplication, division, and fractions will be one of our main adventures this year. As we start a new school year I want to remind you that, here at BSE we love your child as if they are our own. The development of your child to become a lifelong learner is the reason why I LOVE to teach. I strongly believe that parent/teacher communication is key to a successful year. Please call or email me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I also believe that organization and responsibility are huge skills that need to be taught each year to children. Therefore, a communication notebook will travel to and from school everyday. I am super excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to see every child bloom and grow. Teaching is my passion and I promise to love your child like my own.
