The Role of a School Counselor

The role of your child’s counselor is to focus on students’ academic, personal/social, and career development. This is accomplished through the provision of classroom guidance classes, individual and small-group counseling, consultation with parents and teachers, and parent workshops. As your child’s counselors, we strive to promote a positive school climate that lends itself to academic achievement. Please contact us if we can be of assistance to your family.

A New Year Means New Goals!

We often think about setting goals at the beginning of a new year. However, the key to attaining our goals is not so much about the start date as it is about having the skills to bring our vision to fruition. I'll be teaching students these skills as we move into the new year!

Peer Tutor Training

For those students who have been selected as peer tutors, I am tentatively planning to conduct their training sessions on Monday, September 28; Tuesday, September 29; Wednesday, September 30; and Friday, October 2. Your child only needs to attend ONE of these trainings.
Students attending one of these trainings should enter through the front door of the school between 7:35 and 7:40 a.m. Training will begin at 7:40 a.m.
At this time, I anticipate that all scheduled peer tutor trainings will proceed as planned. However, this could change at any time. Please check the morning of the training to make sure that it will be conducted as scheduled.
Friday training: It is 6:52 a.m., on Friday, October 2nd. I am confirming that this training WILL proceed as planned. Thank you for checking!
