today I'm going to show you how to access an online digital library of books for your child while you are home with I want to open up the class link app and the class link app is available if your child brought home their device if they brought home the iPad they should have the app on the iPad students in grades 3 through 12 are going to sign in using your Microsoft email address and then students and K3 second grade have a quick card and has a QR code attached to it that you can scan so I'm going to sign in with my son Clark's quicker than you can just see what looks like from the student perspective so skinny that code it's going to open up the class link library of options so today let's look at myON myON is a digit Library I'm in it is to facilitate ituri Renaissance Learning him and when you login you can see I'm here Clark's reading history it'll show you the last book that your child read I'm it does that a reading goal for your child it'll show you how many books they finish this week how many pages they bread and you can also look at the month view as well and see how well they are doing at the teacher has assigned a project to them you can see that under the places listed project and open a project you can just click that pencil and it's showing I'm Clark has a project here and he can get started on that at any time I am to get back to Clarks main landing page instead of using the back arrow at the Top If you just click the Mayan button and that takes you back to the main page they're down below here it's going to rain send some different books to Clark because he likes to read Scooby-Doo book and then other books he's recently opened so to actually get a deeper look at Clark's learning on my end if we on his name you'll see here I'm there some different options if he clicks on the activity button it'll show you everything that he's red he opened it when he accessed it whether it actually fit the book if he took a quiz what is great on the quiz was so not so forth you could really do a deep dive here you can look and see what his interests are and these should be selected by the student so this kind of helps me and recommends books to Clark based on what he's interested in and his reading level and then the finally you have the Lexile and the Lexile shows you their growth in Reading over time, and you can see I'm back here that's where he started last year in the 2018 school year and then where he is ending up again to get back we're going to click on that my end button now and there is a project button appear at the top so you can see and click I'm he has two projects He has not started on yet you can also see if they have started it or whether they have completed it to access the books in Mayan to actually get reading and you when I click the library button for students and K 1st and 2nd grade what I recommend is that they stick to the recommended books or I called him the thumbs-up book because these are going to be books that are appropriate for their grade level although geared toward their reading level as well so again for grades k-3 second grade I strongly suggests that they stick to those recommended reads your older readers certainly can browse but remember that my on is scared for students in K-12 and so you do want to be mindful of that as well if they browse for example we can animals and then maybe I'm really interested ocean creatures that I can click under the sea and it is going to give me a bunch of different books that I can read if I'm interested in Reading California sea lions I can click on the book and this gives me just a general overview I can read it by clicking the button and to get started I'm going to click start the book now for our younger readers there is an audio feature so if I click the audio button and press play forneus demon by Megan Cooley Peterson it will read the book aloud to us I can click the next button and it will turn the pages and there are some options over here in the Rye we do have some tools so for example if you wanted to have your child maybe you're asking them to identify nouns and so they could use the paintbrush and they could Circle sea lion sea lions is a person place or thing there is an eraser you can create shape so maybe you stay put a box around the nouns are lions arrows Etc so that is an option that you can use and you can also click the trash can and remove all your markings from the page and there is the dictionary as they do not know what what word means so maybe I don't understand or maybe I want them to look up the definition of bark I have the dictionary right there I can keep a journal and take notes on what I learned maybe you want them to write down five facts about what they learned they can do that there + 2 what's that click that to get rid of that MF I want just an overview of the book I can look and get around on the pages one thing to know when you get to the end of a book I'm and you click click the arrow button it's going to save their progress if you close the book you'll notice it says read more to finish this book so the computer has a way of knowing your child has not spent enough time reading the book until what they need to do is go back and reread the pages again once they do that and they get to the end there will be a button that says I have finished this book and they should click that it will give them the option to give Star reviews they'd click the stars and then click save my review on occasion it will ask them to take a quiz about what they've read it will not read the quiz questions to them they do have to do that in the house if you have a student hey first or second grade you may need to assist them with that and that is basically at your child can create a list of books on of their favorite books that they want they can also do a search maybe they are researching president they can type in president and it will give them a list of books that you can also search that way but again I do kind of recommend for the littles 2 take to those recommended books because those are going to be the ones that are most
